PostGuard

Terms of Service

Effective: 26 September 2026 · Version 1.1

Launch draft. This document reflects PostGuard's current service and intended practices, but must be reviewed and approved by qualified UK legal/privacy counsel before full commercial launch.

1. About PostGuard

PostGuard is currently operated as a pre-incorporation business in the United Kingdom. These Terms govern access to and use of the PostGuard security/privacy decision-support service. You must be at least 16 to create an account. If using PostGuard for an organisation, you confirm you have authority to do so.

2. Service purpose

PostGuard analyses user-supplied captions, text, photographs, images, metadata, visible text/OCR, location and landmark indicators, personal-information exposure and public-source/web-match indicators to identify potential privacy, personal-security and OSINT risks.

3. Advisory nature

Risk scores, warnings, findings, recommendations and safer-post suggestions are decision-support only. PostGuard does not guarantee every risk will be identified. LOW RISK does not guarantee content is safe, private, lawful or appropriate to publish. Automated OCR, AI and public-source results may contain errors or false positives. The final publishing decision remains with the user.

4. No professional advice

PostGuard does not provide legal, law-enforcement, financial or professional protective-security advice and does not replace emergency services or professional security assessment.

5. Account security

You must provide accurate information, keep credentials confidential, protect access to authentication methods and promptly report suspected compromise to security@postguard.uk.

6. Acceptable use

You must comply with the Acceptable Use Policy. PostGuard must not be used for unlawful activity, stalking, harassment, malicious tracking, doxxing, fraud, burglary planning, exploitation of children or vulnerable people, unauthorised surveillance, or attempts to bypass service security.

7. Your content

You retain ownership of submitted content and grant PostGuard only the limited permission reasonably necessary to receive, transmit, temporarily store, process and analyse it to provide and secure the service. This may include processing by approved providers such as Google Cloud Vision. PostGuard does not use customer scan content to train AI models under its current policy. You are responsible for having an appropriate right or lawful basis to submit content concerning other people.

8. AI, OCR and public-source information

Public-source matches, web entities, landmarks and similar results are investigative/security leads rather than verified facts unless independently corroborated. PostGuard does not guarantee the accuracy, availability or completeness of third-party analysis or public information.

9. PostGuard intellectual property

PostGuard retains its rights in its software, source code, branding, interface, risk-scoring systems, analysis methods, reports, documentation and proprietary technology. Active users receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for its intended purpose.

10. Plans and pricing

PlanMonthly price
PostGuard Personal£49/month
PostGuard Executive£100/month

Features are those presented before purchase.

11. Seven-day trial and automatic renewal

Where offered, a valid payment method is required for the paid-plan 7-day free trial. Unless cancelled before the trial ends, the selected plan becomes a paid monthly subscription and the applicable fee is charged automatically. The subscription then renews monthly until cancelled. Price, billing frequency, trial, renewal and cancellation information will be presented clearly before purchase.

After signup, PostGuard will provide or make available confirmation of the subscription information in a form the customer can retain. Customers should keep their confirmation email and these Terms for their records.

12. Cancellation, cooling-off rights and refunds

You may cancel your recurring subscription at any time through the billing/customer portal made available through your account. Cancelling stops future automatic renewals; subscription cancellation and account deletion are separate actions.

If you contract with PostGuard as a UK consumer at a distance, you may have a statutory 14-day cancellation period beginning when the contract is made. Because PostGuard is an online service that can be made available during that period, if you expressly request the service to begin immediately and then exercise an applicable statutory cancellation right after supply has begun, the amount refundable may be reduced by a proportionate amount for service already supplied where the law permits. Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts statutory consumer rights. Where the law requires a full refund, PostGuard will provide one.

To exercise an applicable statutory cancellation right, you may use the billing portal where that route is suitable or send an unambiguous cancellation request to security@postguard.uk. You may also use the model cancellation form below, but use of the form is not mandatory.

I hereby give notice that I cancel my contract for the supply of the following service: [Personal / Executive].

13. Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. PostGuard does not store complete payment-card details. If payment fails, PostGuard may reasonably request updated payment information, retry payment, restrict paid functionality or suspend the subscription, subject to applicable law.

14. Price changes

PostGuard may change prices. Changes will not apply retrospectively to charges already incurred. Existing customers will receive advance notice where required before a changed price applies to a future billing period.

15. Availability

PostGuard aims to provide a reliable service but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, security work, faults, infrastructure/provider failures or circumstances outside reasonable control may cause interruptions.

16. Suspension and termination

PostGuard may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect an account, investigate compromise or abuse, prevent unlawful activity, protect users/infrastructure, comply with law or address a material breach. Serious abuse, fraud or security threats may result in immediate restriction or termination.

17. Account deletion and retention

Account deletion and subscription cancellation are separate processes. Data deletion and retention follow the Privacy Notice and Data Retention Policy.

18. Liability

PostGuard will provide the service with the standard required by applicable law but cannot guarantee that automated analysis detects every risk or that every finding is accurate. To the extent permitted by law, PostGuard is not responsible for losses resulting solely from a user's independent publishing decision contrary to warnings, or risks it could not reasonably identify from supplied material. Nothing excludes or restricts liability where doing so would be unlawful or affects statutory consumer rights.

19. Privacy

Use of personal information is governed by the Privacy Notice.

20. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to mandatory consumer protections applicable where a customer lives. Contact security@postguard.uk to seek resolution without removing any statutory right to pursue an appropriate remedy.

21. Changes

PostGuard may update these Terms for service, security, legal, regulatory or operational reasons. Material changes affecting existing customers will be notified where required.

22. Contact

Questions can be sent to security@postguard.uk.
