PostGuard

Cookie Policy

Effective: 26 September 2026 · Version 1.0

Launch draft. This document reflects PostGuard's current service and intended practices, but must be reviewed and approved by qualified UK legal/privacy counsel before full commercial launch.

1. About this policy

This policy explains how PostGuard uses cookies and similar technologies on its website and service.

2. Cookies

Cookies are small pieces of information stored by a website in a user's browser. PostGuard currently uses cookies only where required to operate and secure the service.

3. Essential session cookie

PostGuard uses an essential session cookie to maintain authenticated sessions and support account security. Current controls include Secure, HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax. Blocking this cookie may prevent login or authenticated functionality.

4. Analytics

PostGuard records first-party aggregate page-view totals by day and page route to understand site usage. It does not use visitor analytics cookies or third-party analytics services. This counter does not store IP addresses, names, query strings or a visitor identifier. The figures are available only to PostGuard administrators and are kept for up to 365 days.

5. Advertising and behavioural tracking

PostGuard does not currently use advertising cookies, Meta/Facebook Pixel or behavioural advertising trackers and does not use cookies to build advertising profiles or track users across unrelated websites for advertising purposes.

6. Third-party services

Following a link or redirect to a third-party service may result in that provider using cookies under its own policy. In particular, Stripe-hosted Checkout or billing services may use cookies or similar technologies necessary to provide, secure and prevent fraud on those services. PostGuard does not control cookies placed directly on third-party hosted pages.

7. Cookie consent

Because PostGuard currently uses only cookies necessary to provide and secure its own service, it does not currently present an optional analytics/advertising cookie-consent banner. If non-essential technologies are introduced, PostGuard will review consent requirements before enabling them.

8. Managing cookies

You can control or delete cookies through browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may prevent authenticated parts of PostGuard from working.

9. Changes

This policy will be updated if new technologies/providers are introduced or cookie purposes or applicable requirements change.
